Captain TJ Karbowski
Captain TJ Karbowski is a United States Coast Guard Certified Master Captain. He has been fishing the waters of Long Island Sound, literally his entire life. He started competitive fishing at age 11 with his father winning TWO top spots in Montauk shark tournaments. He has been hooked ever since! When TJ was 20 he had finally saved up enough money to buy his own boat, a customized 27′ Sea Ray. A few years later, to realize his dream of being a charter-boat captain, TJ acquired his captain’s license and purchased a bigger boat. With a 35′ Luhrs, Rock and Roll Charters was born. Years later, he purchased his current boat, a Hatteras 41. This is a quality built vessel, designed for offshore fishing. The boat is equipped with twin diesel engines, underwater exhausts (no diesel fumes), air conditioning, extra large bathroom, state of the art navigation equipment and all PENN tournament quality fishing tackle.

Captain Dan Benwell
Captain Dan Benwell has been a member of the crew since 2007. “Big Dan” is a great conversationalist and a lot of fun to be around. He always seems to find that he and members of the charter party share common friends; this never ceases to amaze us! Dan spends his days off fishing with friends on either of his two boats, a 25’ center console or his 41’ Viking sportfish “Nan-Sea”.
Captain Rich Karber
Captain Rich Karber is a very experienced boater/fisherman and cousin of the captain. Rich is co-owner of Offshore Marine Services www.offshoreyachtsales.com and is a licensed yacht broker in both Connecticut and Florida. Rich grew up on boats fishing the waters of Long Island Sound and also has extensive experience tuna fishing the Northeast Canyons. When not fishing with us, Rich is often fishing for fun aboard his 25’ Mako “November Sun”.
“Mad” Mike Tanner
Mad Man Mike is the one who gets the call when we have a scheduled shark trip. He is a lumberjack by trade and owner of “Tanners Tree Service’’. Mike is a Die-Hard hunter/fisherman and has been with us since 2003. He is known to bite the heads off of the bait for good luck. No shark will get away from him, if it does there’s a good chance he’ll jump in after it! Mike is a good person to have on your side, and truly “FEARS NO FISH”.
Dave Vitaletti
Whether he’s filleting fish or cleaning the boat, everything Dave does, he does to perfection. Dave is an extremely gifted individual and has OCD to the max! He’s a professional marine mechanic at our home port of Cedar Island Marina www.cedarislandmarina.com and does most of our night trips. He is a pleasure to have onboard and we are happy he is part of the crew. Dave’s
